Exclaim! Canada Record Review: Bleeding Is Believing

Toronto’s heavy music impresarios, the Hellmarys, are here with their new CD — and it’s heavy. Duel guitars work with a slow dirge pace from a band showcasing some well-rounded musicianship here. Reminiscent of Black Sabbath in more than one respect, this release manages to deftly avoid the trappings of a corny rock act. Tracks like “Adversary” and “Rock the Nation” demonstrate the range these guys have to offer. Bleeding Is Believing delivers! Amen.

The Nerve Magazine Record Review: Bleeding Is Believing

I am already excited about Hellmarys' next release. The production seems slightly amateur and the vocals are a little too predominant and clean for my taste, but Hellmarys' Monster Magnet styled guitar work more than compensates for these minor flaws. The riffs are absolutely freaking infectious! This is the kinda shit that prefaces reckless driving, rowdy nights out at the peeler bar, and raunchy rabid fucking. Get on your knees and say your prayers, cocksuckers. Hellmarys are out to corrupt, and I assure you you'll want a little spare salvation in the bank when you get your hands on this disk.
